Textile Humidification

Textile humidification during fiber processing

The textile material is highly hygroscopic. Its physical characteristics are impacted by a number of mechanisms, including elasticity, fiber diameter, tensile strength, and friction, making it susceptible to any change in the relative humidity, and affect its quality. The use of textile humidification systems are proven to increase the workability of fibers in textile manufacturing processes.

Working with fibers in low humidity conditions can be challenging, especially during embroidery, weaving and spinning yarns, as it may cause it to be lighter, thinner, less elastic, and therefore more brittle. Moreover, the increase in electrostatic charge is also problem because of the acting friction on the fibers during these processes. These challenges can be minimized by maintaining the humidity level during fiber processing.

Custom-made humidification for your textile production

A study by The American Institute of Textile Technology found that wool, by increasing relative humidity from 60 to 70% during storage and processing, shows a 15% increase in elasticity, which drastically reduces breakage during processing. Using a textile humidification system increases the tensile strength of all natural fibers, removes static electricity, improves the workability of the yarns and fibers, abates the suspended residual, and improves the comfort level in the work areas.

EMergyKool’s automated textile humidification system is composed of a high pressure mist pump, control panel, patented nozzles, and polyamide pipes, fitting and accessories, and can be custom-made as per the specific requirements of textile production.
